Squee:gee’s House Washing
A better clean starts with the right method.
Auckland homes collect salt, mould, algae, dust and grime across the exterior.
The answer is not simply more pressure.
Squee:gee uses Soft Washing for suitable house exteriors, combining a carefully selected cleaning solution with controlled low pressure to loosen and remove build-up while treating the surface with more care.

What is Soft Washing
Cleaning power without unnecessary pressure.
Soft Washing is a low-pressure exterior cleaning method.
Instead of relying on water pressure alone, we apply a specialised cleaning solution that helps break down mould, algae, dirt and organic grime before the surface is gently rinsed.
This makes Soft Washing particularly useful for many exterior surfaces where aggressive high-pressure cleaning would be unnecessary or unsuitable.
Why we use it
Soft Washing allows us to:
Clean many painted exterior surfaces
Clean appropriate weatherboards and cladding systems
Treat mould, algae and organic build-up
Work at lower pressure than traditional high-pressure washing
Reach detailed areas more evenly
Adjust the cleaning mix and method to the property
The Squee:gee standard is simple: use the right method for the surface.
Not the strongest. Not the quickest. The one that gets the job done properly while looking after your home.
Soft Washing FAQs
The method can change from one surface to the next. The Squee:gee standard does not.
-
A standard House Wash covers the appropriate exterior cladding, eaves and exterior details within the booked service.
Every House Wash also includes a full exterior Window Clean, including exterior glass, frames and sills.
The exact treatment depends on the surfaces and condition of the property.
-
The main things are clear access, closed windows and doors, laundry brought inside, pets kept safely away from the work area, and movable or fragile outdoor items cleared where practical.
For the full checklist:
-
Usually not. Exterior cleaning can generally be completed without you being present as long as we have the access we need and the property has been prepared for the service.
-
There is no single schedule that suits every Auckland home. Coastal exposure, shade, vegetation, surrounding trees and how quickly organic growth returns all make a difference.
For customers who prefer to stay ahead of the build-up, speak with our Squee:gee team to have House Washing and Window Cleaning on a regular schedule.

Soft Washing allows the cleaning solution to do more of the work while using less physical force on painted and other appropriate exterior surfaces.

The current Soft Washing process uses sodium hypochlorite combined with a biodegradable house-wash surfactant. The mixture is adjusted according to the home, surface and condition.

We take precautions around vegetation, including pre-wetting plants and keeping them appropriately rinsed and moist throughout the cleaning process.

Yes. We connect to the property's water supply and feed it into our equipment. A Soft Wash service typically used around 800 litres for a House Wash, although actual use can vary by property.
-
Yes. We need clear access around the exterior. Outdoor furniture, barbecues, pot plants, breakable items and anything that could obstruct access should be moved where practical.
Windows should also be fully closed and laundry brought inside before Soft Washing begins.
-
Let us know. Where it is reasonable and safe, the team may be able to help move larger items. Preparation requirements will be covered in the Getting Ready guide.

Light rain does not necessarily prevent exterior cleaning. If weather conditions make the planned work unsuitable or unsafe, we will contact you about the next step.

No. House Washing removes surface dirt and organic build-up, but it cannot repair faded paint, oxidation, damaged coatings, deterioration or permanent staining.
If we see something that appears to be damage rather than ordinary build-up, we will tell you.
